Code Institute - Software Development

Students who are enrolled on the Software Development course will get access to Code Institute's platform within their first week. Here they will have access to their course resources. They will not require access to UCD Professional Academy's LMS system.

They will be given their schedule which will include information on their Assessment Information, Project Deadlines, Schedule and their Resubmission Policy.

Slack:

Learners will also be added to the Code Institute's Slack Community where learners can communicate, discuss or make calls to their classmates. They will also be added to specific Channels which are named after a module in the course and here can ask specific questions.

Mentor Led Sessions:

Learners have the option to join Bi-weekly mentor led sessions which are an informal team-meetup to check in, ask questions and have some fun! We strongly recommend that all learners attend all of these sessions as they provide learners with networking opportunities, support and keep motivation levels high.

Masterclasses:

Masterclasses are designed as team activities to enable learners to develop expertise in implementing what they have learnt while developing planning and collaborative skills.

Assessment:

The course is assessed with 5 Milestone projects.

All 5 projects must be completed before the certificate can be awarded.

You will receive an Assessment Handbook with all the relevant project information. It will also contain your project submission deadlines which must be met.

Some modules have challenges for you to complete. These are not graded but will help improve your understanding of the course material.
